The objectives of the Central Industrial Region continued to be fine-tuned until the breakout of World War II
The Central Industrial Region was established by the decision of the Parliament of the Republic of Poland on 5th February 1937. The plan itself had been taking shape for years. In 1936, it crystallized due to the four-year economic plan authored by Eugeniusz Kwiatkowski, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the State Treasury. The project was co-ordinated with a six-year plan of the expansion of the Polish military forces, developed by the Ministry of Military Affairs and the General Staff at that time. The objectives of the Central Industrial Region continued to be fine-tuned until the breakout of World War II.
